CERAMIC DOMES
If your walls ever feel flat but you don’t want to fill them with frames, this is such a beautiful alternative.
Ceramic domes are one of those pieces that instantly change how a wall feels. Sculptural, earthy, and quietly dramatic, they bring dimension without adding clutter. I came across Sam Mayell’s handmade domes and immediately knew I wanted them in our home. I chose the earth collection, and it’s one of those pieces people always ask about. They feel less like decor and more like art.
Why Ceramic Domes Work So Well
⟡ They add depth without overwhelming a space
⟡ They catch light in a really soft, natural way
⟡ They work in both modern and traditional interiors
⟡ They feel collected, not mass produced
⟡ They’re perfect for small walls that need something special
How I Would Style Ceramic Domes
I love using ceramic domes in spaces that need a little texture but not visual noise. They look especially beautiful on limewashed walls, against warm neutrals, or paired with darker woods and brass.
You can cluster them for a more collected feel, or keep it minimal with just two or three placed intentionally. I personally love them on narrower walls, where a single accent can really stand on its own without getting lost. They work especially well in an entryway, above a console, or in a corner where you wouldn’t expect something like this.
The Ones I Chose
I went with the earth collection from Sam Mayell. Each piece is handmade, which gives them that imperfect, organic feel I always gravitate toward. The tones are soft and layered, which makes them really easy to work into different spaces.

Some pieces do not need a full around them to feel considered. These are one of them. If you love sculptural objects that feel quiet but unforgettable, ceramic domes are such a beautiful place to start.
