THE HOUR BETWEEN THE SUN & THE MOON

Christmas Tree 2025

‘tis time!! This year’s tree lives somewhere between daylight and dreamlight. I wanted it to feel like that moment when the sun hasn’t quite disappeared, but the moon has already arrived. The moment where both of them exist together beautifully in the sky.

The tree is filled with light blue ornaments sourced from HomeGoods to echo the sky, frosted globed string lights to reflect the moon, and oversized clear globes filled with soft white fairy lights to sparkle like the stars. !!! And of course, the tinsel dances with the light and keeps the whole thing fluid like watching the sunset over the ocean.

Behind it all, a James Turrell inspired sunset light glows like an abstract tree topper. It was so fun to reimagine the idea of a tree topper this year and use light. For the base, I wanted the tree skirt to feel more sculptural this year, something that would rise and fall like soft peaks in the sand. I sourced two yards of a copper silk lame from Mood Fabrics in the city, fluid enough to function as a tree skirt but structured enough to hold a bit of shape. Each tone is thoughtfully layered to capture that in between where the day turns to night and everything in the sky begins to glow.
