CASA HK
This one is special. It was actually my first Room Service: The Design Hotline project from start to finish — my beta client who trusted me with the idea when it was still just in the concept stage.
Room Service was born out of moments with my past clients. I would often come back after a full design service to fine-tune small corners or help with styling projects, and those were the times when clients did more of the sourcing themselves. It was less about me shopping for them and more about guiding, editing, and helping them see how to bring everything together.
With Casa HK, it was my first time to test Room Service from beginning to end. The clients came to me with a few existing pieces (a linen sofa being the biggest), and together we layered from there. Design often starts from scratch, but this experience showed how beautiful a space can become when you focus on the magic of being in the right place at the right time and embrace local finds along the way.
I guided them toward the kinds of pieces to keep an eye out for, and from there they went hunting through local sources from HomeGoods to antique shops. Both husband and wife were in the WhatsApp chat with me, so it became this fun, ongoing design conversation every day. They’d send over finds, and I’d weigh in with guidance or alternate options if something didn’t quite work and slowly, their home came together piece by piece.
You may remember when I first framed Sabyasachi wallpaper a few years ago. I’ve always loved treating textiles and wallpapers as artwork. This time, I framed a Sabyasachi fabric instead. The deep velvet tone of the burgundy offered such a luxe contrast to the casual linen sofa and instantly elevated the entire space.
See images below for a look at how their home came together, from the early stages to screen grabs of the WhatsApp media folder, to the finished space.
